Steffany van Vliet
Position: Account Manager | Brand: Compacon | Location: Barendrecht, The Netherlands
"We are a close team, sharing each other's joys and sorrows."
Mandy, how long have you been working at Plato Group/Clipper Interall?
I started at Compacon in March 2008 as an Inside Sales employee. So, it’s been over 16 years now.
How did you find your way to Compacon?
Through a job vacancy in a local weekly newspaper called De Schakel. Very old-fashioned, but that’s how things were back in 2008 😉
What are your tasks and responsibilities?
I am now working as an Account Manager. In this role, I’m responsible for intensifying sales activities with clients, and I enjoy regularly sitting at the table with them. Additionally, I aim to work with the entire team (project coordinator, customer support, webshop, and studio) to relieve our clients in every way possible and provide creative input wherever we can.
I’m also responsible for training my project coordinator to some extent. On top of that, I enjoy collecting new products and ideas to approach both existing and potential clients in an original way. Of course, I am also responsible for monitoring my targets and managing margins.
I think my strength lies mainly in my willingness to engage in conversations and my ability to build and maintain client relationships.
What has been your highlight over the past years?
I think one of my highlights was my promotion to the position of Account Manager. I feel like I started as a subtle underdog in this role and have since proven my worth.
What has been your highlight over the past years?
Without going into too much detail, I'd say the amazingly diverse projects we've been privileged to do for all kinds of brands over the years. And also how we've become such a close team of fantastic people who have really shared our joys and sorrows over the past 16 years.
